Metro Atlanta Sees Mainly Rain
5,00 EMC Customers In North Georgia Without Power

ATLANTA -- A winter storm passed through north Georgia, with metro Atlanta seeing mostly rain.Widespread icing had been reported on roads and overpasses across north Georgia, but as of Saturday, most of the ice had melted.As of 9 a.m. Saturday, local electric membership cooperatives reported having approximately 5,000 customers without power, primarily in Rabun and Pickens Counties in north Georgia. Outages are due to trees falling on power lines. Outages are expected to be restored by late Saturday afternoon.The main areas that received snow Friday were in extreme northern Georgia.A CBS Atlanta viewer in McCaysville, in Fannin County, said the area received at least an inch and a half of snow by Friday afternoon.Stay with CBSAtlanta.com for all the latest Winter Weather information.
