A Henry County teenager is dead after the truck he was driving struck a tree.
Around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, a white Ford Ranger pick-up occupied with five teenagers inside left the roadway on Coan Road just East of Willow Creek Drive in McDonough.
The pickup struck a tree.
As a result of the accident, the driver, Nash Beever, 17, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two teenage boys were taken to Piedmont Henry with non-life-threatening injuries. One teenage boy was taken to Southern Regional with non-life-threatening injuries. A teenage girl was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital with serious injuries and as of early Wednesday morning, is still in serious condition and improving.
The accident is still under investigation. Preliminary investigation reveals that weather conditions were a factor and lack of proper safety restraints will also be a factor.
