BOSTON (POOL/CNN) - A meaningful moment took place at the finish line of the Boston Marathon during the Red Sox victory parade.
The Red Sox placed their World Series championship trophy on the line, the
scene of April's marathon bombings.
Outfielder Jonny Gomes then put a 'Boston Strong' jersey over the trophy.

Fans said the Boston Red Sox world championship win wasn't just about
baseball but about perseverance.
The parade started at Fenway Park and ended at the Charles River, and passed the site of April's Boston Marathon bombings.
The Red Sox beat the St. Louis Cardinals Wednesday to win the World Series.
It marked the first time the Red Sox won a championship while at home since 1918, the year that began the team's infamous 86-year World Series drought.
This latest win is the third title the Red Sox have collected within the last 10 seasons.
