COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier truly likes Clemson's Dabo Swinney. The Gamecocks coach also likes the mutual respect coming from both sides of the Palmetto State's biggest rivalry. No. 6 Clemson plays at No. 10 South Carolina on Saturday night. The Tigers are trying to end a four-game losing streak in the rivalry, while the Gamecocks look to continue a school-record 17-game home win streak.
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) - AJ McCarron has risen to the occasion on big stages with Southeastern Conference and national titles on the line. Now, top-ranked Alabama's quarterback steps onto one with something more personal potentially at stake, too: His Heisman Trophy chances. McCarron can bolster his case if he leads the Crimson Tide past rival No. 4 Auburn on Saturday and looks good doing it.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Taylor Hall scored 51 seconds apart in the second period, and Ilya Bryzgalov got a shutout in his first start for Edmonton as the Oilers beat the Nashville Predators 3-0 Thursday night.
