GWINNETT COUNTY, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -
Aimee Copeland, the Georgia woman who nearly lost her life to a rare flesh-eating disease, will celebrate her 25th birthday Saturday with the Gwinnett Gladiators.
Copeland will take part in the ceremonial puck drop festivities prior to the game. The Gladiators released a statement saying they want to honor her and "her courageous fight."
Tickets to Saturday night's event cost $20 with $5 going to the Aimee Copeland Fund. The Gwinnett Gladiators take on South Carolina at 7:05 p.m.
