MILTON, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -

A Milton man who requested an exotic pet permit was given approval Tuesday.

Dean Riopelle wants to turn his home into an official zoo.

In October, CBS Atlanta News spoke to Riopelle who said no one has complained about the animals currently on his property thus far.

His exotic animal preserve would be approximately 20.74 acres.

The motion approved 5-1 with conditions regarding type and number of on-site structures.

There may be restrictions on type and size of animals, methods of reporting to the city and state, and style of operation.

Riopelle said he enjoys raising the animals and would be excited for his home to officially become a zoo.

"It's a hobby," said Riopelle. "It's enrichening. It's fun. I like seeing other people interacting with them too, and how they react. The vast majority say, 'I've never touched a monkey before.'"
