COBB COUNTY, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -
A 19-year-old and 8-year-old were killed in an accident on I-575 south near Chastain Road in Cobb County on Monday.
Police are still investigating the crash that happened in Kennesaw.
The driver of a minivan, Abraham Fernandez-Zuniga, 19, was traveling northbound on Interstate 575 as a truck driven by Earldean Clayton, 42, was traveling southbound.
Officers said the van exited the left side of the roadway and continued into the center median.
As the van entered into the southbound lanes, it was struck by the truck.
An 8-year-old passenger inside the minivan died at the accident scene.
Clayton was taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
