Jury selection begins in DeKalb County serial rape case

ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -

Jury selection has started for a suspected rapist who selected his victims from Publix supermarkets in the metro Atlanta area.

Court documents said Gary Mincey, 36, attempted to rape or assaulted five women in 2011.

Mincey is charged with multiple counts of rape, false imprisonment and aggravated sexual battery.

He was also charged with aggravated assault, armed robbery and burglary.

Opening statements in the trial are expected to begin Tuesday at 9 a.m.
