ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -
The 131st Atlanta St. Patrick's Parade took place Saturday. The parade started at noon.
Eamon Gilmore, Deputy Prime Minister of Ireland, served as grand marshal. The parade featured more than 2,000 dances and musicians.
The event started at the intersection of Peachtree St. and Ivan Allen Boulevard and went down Peachtree to Marietta Street.
Representatives of Atlanta's Irish groups make up the parade committee with the goal of promoting Irish heritage.
