Cartersville police: Toddler struck by car, flown to hospital

CARTERSVILLE, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -

A toddler was flown to the hospital after being struck by a car near Martin Luther King Drive in Cartersville on Friday.

Cartersville police officers said the child was in the front yard of a home when someone backed out of the driveway and struck the child.

According to Capt. Mark S. Camp with the Cartersville Police Department, the child received a severe laceration to the head.

The toddler was flown to the hospital.
