Elderly Marietta woman struck, killed by car

MARIETTA, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -

A 79-year-old woman was hit and killed on Roswell Road in Marietta Wednesday night.

Police said Maria D. Roxo stepped into the roadway into the path of a white Nissan 300ZX.

Roxo was taken by ambulance to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The 25-year-old driver was not charged.
