ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -
An estimated 600,000 H&R Block customers are still waiting for their income tax returns after the tax-preparing giant experienced a computer software glitch.
The error, on Form 8863 for education tax credits, affected hundreds of thousands of tax payers nationwide, according to the IRS.
On Monday, H&R Block acknowledged the issue in a statement on their website, saying, "There was an issue with a limited number of software company products that affected some tax returns filed between Feb. 14 and 22, 2013."
It was not clear how many people were affected in Georgia.
On Wednesday, CBS Atlanta spoke with a college student who still has not received her tax returns because of the glitch.
"I filed on the second, it was processed the 16th and still haven't gotten anything," said Shareka Brown.
Brown filed for her refund back in February and thanks to the software glitch is still waiting for her check.
"I can wait but at this point I'm kind of getting frustrated because I had big plans, but now I can't do anything," Brown said.
The IRS recommends tax payers continue to check "Where's My Refund?" on IRS.gov for the latest updates on their refunds.
