Truth is, I hate running just never was able to do it for long and Iook like a cross between a hurt animal and a power walker when I run.
I lost my husband, he was 42 this past September and I was his caregiver for two years.
I was out of shape and stressed beyond what I was used to.
After selling my house and moving south to be close to family and friends to re-group, (I)thought, 'Why not try to run in a marathon one day?' A bucket list of sorts.
I admire runners, their dedication to the sport and I started power walking and running first one mile of hell then worked up to three. Now I can run-walk five miles with my best being eight miles.
I want to complete the half marathon but will happy with completing the 5k this year as a personal goal and tribute to my late husband.
This has been a wonderful experience for me and a healthy one, too!
See you at the run-
Marsha
