Special honor for Georgia crossing guards

ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -

Crossing guards across Georgia will have their own special day on Wednesday.

Leaders in Dunwoody asked Gov. Nathan Deal to make the day School Crossing Guard Appreciation Day.

The day honors the men and women across the state who help kids stay safe as they travel to and from school each day.

Wednesday is also Georgia Walk to School Day.
