DUNWOODY, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -
The Daffodil Dash was held Sunday to raise awareness and funds for Holocaust education and for children suffering in humanitarian crises throughout the world.
The Dash is a 1-mile and 5k run in memory of the 1.5 million children who perished in the Holocaust.
Proceeds benefit the Am Yisreal Chai, a nonprofit Holocaust Education and Awareness organization, as well as "Kids for the Kids" and "Raising South Sudan," organizations helping children and families in remote villages in Darfur and South Sudan.
The race began and Georgia Perimeter College and ended at the Abe Besser Holocaust Memorial at the Marcus Jewish Community Center in Dunwoody.
A Holocaust survivor and a Darfur refugee were guest speakers.
