LAWRENCEVILLE, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -
Gwinnett County firefighters said several people called 911 about a fire at a Lawrenceville house.
Firefighters responded to a fire in the 1900 block of Lawrenceville Suwanee Road in Lawrenceville on Saturday morning. They said there was heavy fire at the back part of the house and in the carport.
Everyone was out of the house when firefighters arrived, but the family's dog died, according to crews.
Firefighters said there was heavy fire damage to the house near the carport and dining room. The rest of the house sustained heavy smoke damage.
The Red Cross was assisting the residents.
The cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
