New poll reveals most people don't cheat on taxes

ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -

Would you cheat Uncle Sam? Most Americans say no.

A new poll finds an overwhelming majority of adults believe it is never acceptable to cheat on their income taxes.

Eighty-seven percent said they would not cheat at all, while 11 percent say they cheat a little here and there.

Ninety-five percent said personal integrity influences them to honestly report their taxes.

The telephone poll of 1,500 randomly chosen adults was sponsored by the Internal Revenue Service Oversight Board.
