ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -
Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow which means an early spring, but for allergy sufferers that's bad news.
Doctors say, in some parts of the U.S., pollen season is starting earlier this year.
Tree and grass pollen should peak over the next two months, but some areas have already seen spikes.
Trees such as maple, oak, elm and birch pollinate in some regions beginning in February.
Before the season, make sure you know your allergic triggers.
You can sign up for Atlanta Allergy & Asthma Clinic's daily pollen count emails here. The daily count email sign up is at the bottom of the page.
