WOODSTOCK, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -
The Georgia Department of Labor and several dozen companies held a job fair Thursday at Etowah High School in Woodstock, and hundreds of people could gain part or full-time employment as a result.
More than 30 retail companies screened applicants during the fair.
The companies are part of the Outlet Shoppes at Atlanta, a 370,000-foot shopping center scheduled to open in July.
"This is a very exciting day when we get to a place when we're ready to start hiring people," said job fair organizer Gina Slechta. She said over 1,000 new jobs will come online when the outlet center opens.
"It's a great opportunity with the economy we've gone through in the last few years to be able to offer people jobs who haven't had jobs for a while."
