Appearance is very important to Trey Harris. After all, he is a personal trainer.
"I work with men and women all over Atlanta that just want to look better, feel better," Harris said.
Part of maintaining his image involved "manscaping," or body grooming.
"It's a challenge to maintain it and to have it look the best it possibly can," he said.
After years of shaving and waxing his chest and abs, Harris turned to Womens' Institute for Health for a permanent fix, which was laser hair removal.
Sure, women are the main focus at WIFH, but laser expert Dr. Jay Kulkin says his male clientele has grown by leaps and bounds.
"I think its just getting more popular and men are getting more comfortable with it," Kulkin said.
Apparently, a lot of men want to say goodbye to ingrown hairs, nicks and razor burn.
"It's a time saver, it's convenience and it's appearance," Harris said. "Less effort to look better."
And some are even influenced by pop culture and TV and movie stars sporting a cleaner look.
"It's more mainstream, they're reading about it, they're seeing it in magazines," Kulkin said.
Kulkin said most of his clients are sent by their significant others, and some are opting to go bare everywhere.
"We're doing chest, abs, bikini, leg, buttocks, back, neck - even some scalps," Kulkin said.
Within eight sessions, Kulkin's clients will see 80 percent less hair. And despite what you may have heard, it shouldn't be too painful when the laser is in the right hands. But, Kulkin warns that if you don't go to an experienced laser technician, you could get burned.
"This is a procedure that should be easy to do, safe to do, terrific results, well-spent money, but in the wrong hands, everything I just said doesn't hold," Kulkin said.
So far, Harris is happy with the results and looks forward to tossing his razor for good.
"In the long run, you're never going to have go and buy a pack of razors," he said.
The cost of laser hair removal varies depending on where you go and what area they're working on.
WIFH charges about $2,500 for a series of eight sessions on the chest and abs.
