Spalding County detention deputy arrested after reports of assault

SPALDING COUNTY, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -

On Wednesday, a Spalding County Sheriff's Office detention deputy was arrested after a report he assaulted an inmate.

Jeshon Burden, 33, was charged with battery and violation of oath of office.

Reports said Burden, an 11-year veteran of the sheriff's office, assaulted an inmate in the Spalding County Sheriff's Office Detention Center on Feb. 11 in the booking area.

Burden has been released on a $2,613.50 bond.
