Former AZ Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords launches new TV ad

TUCSON, AZ (AP) -

Former Arizona Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords takes her plea for gun control to television.

Giffords is featured in a new commercial which began airing Monday. The ad showed images of the aftermath of four mass shootings and an on-camera appeal by Giffords.

Giffords is recovering from a head injury suffered in a mass shooting in Tucson, AZ in Jan. of 2011.
