According to a 2012 Centers for Disease Control study, Georgia ranks first in the nation for teen dating violence.
That's why the Partnership Against Domestic Violence (PADV) will host a teen dating summit Saturday. The free event will teach teens how to recognize and address teen dating violence.
"In Georgia, more than 100 teens and young adults lost their lives in 2010 to intimate partner violence, and one in three Georgia teens have experienced dating violence. We need to address the issue openly and honestly to effect change," said Meagan Fulmer, executive director for PADV, in a written statement.
The summit is from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at The Lodge Café located at 3417 Roswell Road Northwest, Atlanta.
