CLAYTON COUNTY, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -
A Clayton County police officer was forced to shoot a suspect while serving a search warrant Friday afternoon.
The shooting happened at a home in the 7800 block of Fielder Road near Stockbridge Road.
SWAT officers were called to the scene because the situation was a high-risk search warrant and the suspect resisted being arrested, according to police at the scene.
That suspect received non-life threatening injuries in the shooting.
On Friday evening, investigators with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation were processing the home, which is standard procedure after an officer-involved shooting.
The name of the officer was not released.
