The Georgia Department of Transportation is strongly encouraging motorists to avoid all unnecessary travel this evening and to exercise the utmost caution if they must drive.
"We are working throughout Central and North Georgia and the Metropolitan Atlanta area to remove debris and clear standing water and clogged storm drains," Commissioner Keith Golden stated. "This has been an extraordinarily devastating event in many areas of northwest Georgia and a most frustrating complication to the evening commute for many thousands. We ask motorists to please be patient and cautious and do not drive through areas of standing water; please detour around these areas if at all possible."
SR 60 in Fannin County, between Mile Posts 23 & 24 (North of SR 515)—waiting for power lines to clear;
SR 140 in Adairsville, Bartow County –GDOT crews clearing debris.
Partial Flooding Issues:
DeKalb county, I-285 SB at Ponce De Leon—flooding in lane four (on the right);
Fulton County, I-85 SB ramp at Camp Creek Parkway; ramp closed due to flooding;
Fulton County, SR 166 WB, west of Delowe Drive, slow moving water; and
Jackson county, flooding on SR 11 at MP 7, just south of SR 129.
GEMA has activated the state operations center and is assisting Bartow County.
There is a curfew in place in Adairsville from dusk to dawn. It is unknown how long the curfew was in effect.

Lawrence Street at Noland Street
Noland Street is closed to thru traffic
Main street and Chestnut Street
Old 41 Highway and South Main Street
