DOUGLAS COUNTY, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -
Douglasville's mayor and police chief said they are pleased after their recent meeting with GDOT and Norfolk Southern Railroad.
Both confirmed that a plan is underway to reduce the number of accidents at a crossing near Downtown Douglasville.
Over the last year, Norfolk trains have hit two cars.
In both cases, drivers crossing the tracks on Mozely Road misjudged the turn and got stuck on the tracks.
Both drivers escaped before the impact.
Since the first accident in November 2011, Pothole Patrol has pushed GDOT and Norfolk Southern for a solution.
