MARIETTA, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -
Cobb County police arrested a truck driver from Florida after they said he caused a fatal crash.
Police said James David Rast Jr., 47, of Jay, FL, was attempting to turn left from Industrial Park Drive onto Cobb Parkway southbound in a Freightliner tractor trailer.
Rast drove into the path of a Chevrolet Express van traveling north on Cobb Parkway driven by Mahmoud Dabdoub, 49, of Marietta.
Dabdoub was killed when his van struck the left side of the trailer.
Rast was charged with failure to yield while turning left and second degree vehicular homicide and is being held in the Cobb County Adult Detention Center on $250,000 bond.
