ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -
The Atlanta City Council has approved a plan they believe will help encourage tourism downtown.
There will be a task force of 25 people to seize business opportunities downtown and improve safety at Underground Atlanta.
"There's never been one cohesive plan with the resources to push toward implementation like this, while at the same time capitalizing on major investment opportunities," said Council Member H. Lamar Willis.
The group will include members of the business community, MARTA, Georgia State University and others.
They will work through the summer and present their findings within nine months.
