EAST POINT, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -
Police from East Point have identified a person of interest wanted in a shooting that happened just after midnight on Jan. 23.
Officers found Dennis Savage, who had been shot several times near an apartment complex just off Washington Road.
Police are now looking for Jontae LaJuan Smith, 22, in connected to this shooting.
Smith was last seen driving a red Ford Crown Victoria with Georgia plate PAA5963.
An unknown accomplice was driving a maroon Mitsubishi.
Police are also asking for assistance in identifying the car and driver.
Many people who live around in the neighborhood are in disbelief over what happened in their neighborhood.
"I waited until the sun came up, because I just didn't feel safe coming out this morning knowing that something like that had happened," said neighbor Candice Thomas. "It's really hard to believe that somebody was shot right down here, on this main highway, because there's a lot of activity at this store."
