FULTON COUNTY, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -
More than a dozen horses have been rescued from a Fulton County horse farm after they were found in poor physical condition.
Fourteen horses were rescued from the Heritage Farms Horse Farm in south Fulton County on Butner Road on Friday.
The horses had infections, were suffering from malnutrition and other physical conditions due to neglect.
Employees with Fulton County Animal Services removed the horses from the farm after issuing a warrant.
The owner of the horse farm received 14 citations for cruelty to animals.
The horses were taken to Mansfield Farms in northern Georgia to be treated.
