Thursday afternoon brought light snowfall and steady amounts of freezing rain and sleet to Carroll County, one of the first counties in northwest Georgia to see the winter weather mix.
The mix started moving into the county just after 3 p.m. Thursday.
As the winter weather mix cleared up, so did the roads. High winds helped dry some of the roads, but Carroll County Emergency Management Agency officials warn drivers to still take things slowly Friday morning.
Drivers like Donna Moses agree.
"All this water that's on the road, and with the temperature and the wind going like it is, they'll freeze," Moses said, while bundled up to deal with the cold.
There was no accumulating snow in Carroll County, as most of what fell quickly melted.
