ATLANTA, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -
A groundbreaking ceremony was held for the Southwest Atlanta Beltline Connector Trail on Saturday.
It happened at the playing fields at Beecher Hills Elementary School. Mayor Kasim Reed and Atlanta City Councilwoman Keisha Lance Bottoms were in attendance.
Phase one of the 4.5-mile trail is along the Eastside, the West End, and the Northside trails. It will bring the total permanent trails to almost seven miles.
