KENNESAW, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -
The city of Kennesaw celebrated the life of Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. Saturday with a community event.
It was held at Kennesaw Mountain High School. The 2 1/2-hour event featured youth speakers, dancers, a community choir and city leaders.
The city wanted to get a head start on celebrating the life and legacy of King. The event was sponsored by the city of Kennesaw and local churches.
The federal holiday recognizing King's birthday is Monday, Jan. 21.
