Surveillance video of the suspect in Walgreens
GWINNETT COUNTY, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -
Police in Gwinnett County are searching for a man whom they say robbed a Walgreens pharmacist at gunpoint and stole hundreds of dollars worth of narcotics.
It happened just before 5 p.m. on Dec. 31 at the Walgreens in the 5900 block of Peachtree Parkway near Buford.
The pharmacist and witnesses said that a man wearing a black mask came into the store, walked up to a small window at the pharmacy, and said," I want Tramadol," according to a Gwinnett County police report.
The report stated that at first, the pharmacist thought it was a joke, but when the suspect yelled again, the pharmacist went to get the narcotics for him.
The suspect became agitated, according to a witness, and began banging his gun on pharmacy counter. He then jumped over the counter and grabbed the box of pills from the pharmacist, according to the report.
A witness told officers that the man left the store and got into a white, two-toned Jeep with grey trim on the bottom.
The police report said that the man got away with 880 Tramadol pills, worth about $430.
If you have any information about the robbery, call the Gwinnett County Police Department at (770) 513-5300.
