ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -
Mourners came from far and wide to celebrate the "the life, legacy and spirit" of Lillian Lewis, the late wife of U.S. Rep. John Lewis.
Lewis died New Year's Eve after a long battle with illness.
By all accounts, this wasn't a sad occasion.
Everyone that came out was upbeat as they remembered Lewis.
"Lillian is in the tradition of those who tore down walls and built bridges for all people. The world celebrates this peace-loving women," said the Rev. Jesse Jackson.
"Congressman Lewis, I bring you the heartfelt condolence of The American Jewish Committee entire Jewish community," Shirley Frank, a family friend, said.
