Friends of Officer Shane Ladner and his wife, Meg Ladner, are asking for prayers as Meg Ladner prepares for surgery Monday.
According to a Facebook page set up for the couple, Meg Ladner will have surgery Monday morning to repair one of her still open wounds from their accident in November of last year.
Meg and Shane Ladner were injured after they were invited to Midland, TX, to an event honoring veterans wounded in Iraq. The couple was among 24 others aboard a parade float that was hit by an oncoming train. Four people were killed, and 17 others were wounded.
Shane Ladner, a Holly Springs police officer and Iraq war veteran, was treated for back injuries. Meg Ladner lost a leg and her pelvis was crushed.
