First lady Deal to launch Great Start Georgia

ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -

Georgia first lady Sandra Deal is scheduled to launch Great Start Georgia Monday morning.

Great Start Georgia is a new initiative for improving the well-being of children and families. Deal said she wanted to make sure the state is able to meet the needs of expectant parents and children ages 5 and younger.

According to Great Start Georgia's website, it is "an approach which requires service providers to build collaborative partnerships that allow families to be served in a systematic and coordinated way."
