Man critical after being shot in the leg

ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -

Atlanta homicide detectives are investigating a shooting Saturday night in northwest Atlanta. A man was shot around 10:30 p.m. at northwest Simmons and Poland streets.

Preliminary investigation shows that a man was shot in the leg. He was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in critical condition according to the Atlanta Police Department.

CBS Atlanta had a crew on the scene which was cordoned off with crime scene tape.

Officers had not taken anyone into custody.
