Report: Trial date set for former DeKalb County secretary accused of elder abuse

DEKALB COUNTY, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -

According to DeKalb County Superior Court documents, a trial date was set for a former school secretary accused of elder abuse.

The 27-count indictment against Bobbie Ward outlines charges including abuse of disabled adults, identity fraud, aggravated assault and exploitation of an elderly person.

Ward was a former Cedar Grove Middle School secretary.

Documents from the DeKalb County Government office allege that Ward used elderly victims' bank accounts and social security numbers.

Jury selection will begin on Jan. 7 at 12:30 p.m.
