DEKALB COUNTY, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -
A DeKalb County doctor was issued an indictment for using Medicaid funds to perform elective abortions.
According to court documents, Andre Damian Williams, M.D., owned two businesses, Legacy Obstetrics and DeKalb Gynecology Associates from January 2009 to September 2011.
The primary business at DeKalb Gynecology Associates was the performance of elective abortions.
The indictment alleges that Williams accepted a total of $205,003 in Medicaid funds for services not performed.
Medicaid fraud is punishable by one to 10 years in prison and a fine of $10,000.
