The owner of a thrift store in Canton is urging people not to return or exchange their unwanted holiday gifts. Instead, he said they can be re-gifted by donating them to local charitable organizations.
"Our operation depends, it lives by, it survives by donations from people in our community," said Gary Lamb, the owner of Second Chance & More Thrift Store and pastor of Action Church.
Lamb said Christmas is a perfect time for people to clean out their unwanted household items and also donate any new gifts they do not need or want.
"If you're not going to use it, why let it just take up space in your house?" said Lamb. "Why let it sit in the corner of your garage when there are people out there that can use it?"
Lamb said the money he makes from the donations will go back to the community. He helps fund local food pantries and other ministries that help those in need.
"I say it over and over, it's a win-win," said Lamb.
