ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -
Movie Director Spike Lee says he's boycotting the Christmas Day opening of Quentin Tarantino's new movie Django Unchained.
Lee says the bloody, slavery-revenge film is an insult to his ancestors.
"American slavery was not a Sergio Leone spaghetti western. It was a holocaust. My ancestors are slaves. Stolen from Africa. I will honor them," Lee wrote.
The movie also is under scrutiny for its frequent use of the N-word - more than 110 times.
The movie starts Jamie Fox, Kerry Washington and Samuel Jackson.
