ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -
An Atlanta police officer escaped injury Saturday after a speeding SUV slammed into the back of an APD cruiser.
The crash happened on University Avenue near Moton Avenue.
A preliminary crash investigation indicated the officer drove on to University Avenue with his emergency equipment activated. According to the report, an SUV crested the hill behind the officer and it appeared, the SUV was traveling too fast to avoid hitting the officer's vehicle.
The SUV hit the patrol car and then struck a parked car. The driver of the SUV was given a citation.
