
The son of avid bicyclist from Michigan who died when a tractor-trailer rig struck him on a Georgia highway near the end of a cross-country ride plans to finish the journey.
AnnArbor.com and The Detroit News report that Dan Cornell of South Lyon, Mich., plans to arrive in Key West, Fla., on Friday along with Joseph Muscato, who was injured in the July 26 crash that killed 64-year-old Pete Cornell.
The semi hit Pete Cornell, Muscato and Thomas Clark near Dawson, Ga. Pete Cornell had retired to Port Charlotte, Fla., and had completed most of a trek of thousands of miles that took him through Alaska and many other states. Muscato and Clark also are from Michigan.
Dan Cornell and Muscato recently started in Dawson, near the crash scene.
