ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -
Colony Square's third annual Trim-a-Tree contest culminates Wednesday with an auction benefiting Bert's Big Adventure.
The nonprofit, started by local radio personality Bert Weiss and his wife, Stacy, provides children with terminal and chronic illnesses an all-expenses-paid trip to Disney World.
Eighteen trees, decorated by Colony Square tenants, have been on display in the food court atrium since Dec. 3 and visitors were invited to donate $1 to vote for their favorite tree.
Wednesday evening, the votes will be counted and winners announced. Then the trees will be auctioned off to the highest bidders, with all proceeds from the votes and auction going to Bert's Big Adventure.
Wednesday's event begins at 5 p.m. in Colony Square's Food Court Atrium. It is free and open to the public.
