Fatal pedestrian accident along Covington Highway

DECATUR, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -

A 41-year-old from Lilburn was killed Sunday morning in a pedestrian accident in the 4600 block of Covington Highway in Decatur.

Andrew McGurie was struck and killed at about 1:30 a.m., according to police.

McGurie stepped from the center lane on Covington Highway into oncoming traffic, according to investigators.

He was struck by the driver of a Chey that was traveling west on Covington Highway.

The driver was not charged.
