FULTON COUNTY, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -
Fulton County commissioners will revote on a measure to replace more than 1,300 faulty locks on jail cell doors.
The issue did not pass at the meeting earlier this week because one of the commissioners arrived late to the meeting and did not vote. The remaining six commissioners were tied at 3-3.
Jail administrators said the locks are unreliable and are easily picked by inmates. County officials counter that improper supervision of inmates is a bigger problem at the jail.
The revote will take place on Dec. 19.
