Mark Melvin/CBS Atlanta- Fire crews were able to contain the fire at this Lilburn home to one bedroom.
GWINNETT COUNTY, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -
Nine members of a Gwinnett County family are safe, but are looking for a place to stay after fire damaged their Lilburn-area home early Wednesday.
Firefighters arrived at the home on Five Forks Trickum Road just before 1:30 a.m. Wednesday and were able to contain the fire damage to a front bedroom, according to Gwinnett County Fire Lt. Colin S. Rhoden.
A resident told fire crews that the fire may have started with a faulty phone charger.
Rhoden said a total of nine people, five of them juveniles, were forced to leave due to smoke and water damage throughout the home. Sherry Nicholson, with the Red Cross, said the agency is assisting the family with lodging, clothing and food.
There were no injuries reported. The exact cause of the fire is under investigation.
