ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -
The Atlanta Police Department and FBI-LEEDA is hosting an interactive training summit on drug diversion and how it impacts law enforcement.
The summit will help combat illegal trafficking and abuse of prescription drugs.
Prescription drug identification and lawful prescribing will be covered in the event.
Law enforcement agents throughout Georgia will attend the event at the Georgia Tech Research Institute Conference Center until 3:30 p.m.
According to Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, 70 percent of people 12 and older who abuse prescription drugs say they get them from friends or relatives.
