MILTON, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -
A 71-year-old Milton man tells CBS Atlanta News his train collection is nearly five decades in the making.
"When I was a kid back in the 1940s, I was given a train by my father, and we added on every year," said Thoresen. "For the last 48 years, we've added on."
It takes Richard Thoresen six weeks to set up the Lionel trains for the Christmas season.
Even though he doesn't advertise it, between 400 and 500 people come to visit Thoresen's house every year just to see his trains in action.
"It's about the only thing I can do good. I'm 71 years old, I enjoy my trains, I know a little bit about them, and I know it brings happiness to other people who come in here."
